One of the first times I heard George Couros speak he said, “Technology is not just a tool. It can give learners a voice that they may not have had before.” The statement resonated with me to such a degree that I have it on a poster in my office. I’ve seen countless examples of how technology can level the playing field for all students. It’s always great to see the reaction of students when they learn about assistive technologies that are already built into the devices they use. While software and hardware producers continue to increase their focus on accessibility, teacher awareness of accessibility is key.
