Luckily the folks at Google have created a series of lessons and challenges that are perfect for developing better search skills. In addition to being an essential skill, learning search skills promotes critical thinking while empowering life-long learners.
Search Literacy Lessons
Five lesson topics are available across three skill levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. For example, when evaluating the credibility of sources beginners examine tone, style, and purpose while advanced learners learn to recognize and consider the impact of bias. Lesson topics:

A Google a Day Classroom Challenges
A Google a Day Challenges provide students with a chance to test and further develop their search skills. Challenges are divided into four categories: Culture, Geography, History, and Science. Each challenge is conveniently available as a Google Slides presentation. After presenting the question you can also access a slide for hints, and an explanation of how to find the answer. The last slide provides additional background information for further discussion.
