The Best STEM Toys Under $25 – 2017
Nick’s Picks for Educational Toys 2017
There are so many great choices for STEM toys under $25, proving that STEM isn’t limited to expensive electronics and fancy gadgets. Here are five of my favorites.
Be sure to check the other two posts of this series:
Don’t forget to check out last year’s choices.
ARTISTORE Building Blocks Tape
Open a whole new world of creative possibilities with Lego tape. This tape is bendable, easy to cut, and sticks to nearly anything. You’ll get 8 rolls of tape (Red, Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Purple, Gray, Black). Rolls are 36 inches long.
Klutz LEGO Chain Reactions Craft Kit
Rube Goldberg meets Legos with this awesome kit. You’ll get everything you need to make 10 chain reaction machines. This will make a great springboard to encourage students to design and build their own machines.
When it comes to creative building, it doesn’t get much cooler or simpler than Wikki Stix. Like pipe cleaners, Wikki Stix bend and twist to any shape. What makes these so awesome is how the stick to essentially any smooth surface. Just push them down and peel them off. That’s it. No glue, no mess, no clean up.
Skoolzy Straw Structures Interlocking Connecting EngineeringConstruction Kit
Aimed at creativity and developing fine motor skills in pre-schoolers, this kit is sure to provide hours of fun. Each kit comes with 100 straws, 100 connectors, a storage bag, and a downloadable activity guide.
Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100 Electronics Discovery Kit
I’m a big fan of Snap Circuits, in fact they were featured in last year’s 5 tech toys under $50. Kids will love designing and building electrical circuits. Use the color-coded snap wires and slide switches to build working models of a photo sensor, a flashing light, and an adjustable-volume siren, and more.

I only recommend products that I personally use or know their value, so you’re in good hands. Purchasing products through some of the links above may result in me receiving a couple of bucks. It helps offset the cost of hosting this site, but it’s certainly not enough to buy a pony. I do however appreciate your support!
